Irish Therapists Forum - Registration Agreement

FORUM RULES, GUIDELINES and NETIQUETTE.

Rules of Conduct

  • Please be nice and apply the same concern and care for other Forum members that you would apply to your clients in your practice. Be professional and courteous at all times.
  • Keep your language appropriate and avoid the use of too-technical terms unless they are absolutely necessary. There is no need to show off your knowledge of the English or Medical Dictionary as your fellow ARCHTI members have qualified for membership in exactly the same way as you have and may actually have more qualifications, experience and expertise than you have.
  • Do not post any copyright-infringing material or provide links to any unsuitable websites. Any posts found in violation of this rule will be edited or possibly deleted and you may be banned from membership of the forum.
  • Of course, you have every right to disagree with your fellow forum members but do not attack, insult, degrade or belittle them. Phrases like “shut up” or “you are an idiot” are not allowed. Instead try and say something like “I disagree with what you are saying for the following reasons….”.
  • The ARCHTI forum does not allow unsolicited advertisements or services and these will be defined as spam and such posts will be deleted. The forum is not the place to promote your practice, business, etc. You can avail of an advertisement/promotion on your website listing instead. If you are found to consistently abuse this rule you will be banned permanently.
  • You will be warned for misbehaving/breaching the rules and if you continue to misbehave your membership of the forum will be banned. This may also affect your ability to renew your ARCHTI membership and/or your accessibility to the ARCHTI group insurance scheme which, in turn, could have serious consequences for your therapy practice.
  • At all times, membership of the ARCHTI forum will be at the discretion of ARCHTI and its officers/staff and failure to comply with any aspect of the conditions of forum membership can have an impact on your therapy practice and this should be borne in mind at all times.
  • If a serious issue should arise in relation to the misuse of the forum by any ARCHTI Member, not only will that member face a total ban from using the forum but their IP address may be blocked.
  • Further to the last rule above, should a forum member decide to try and use another computer to access the forum they will face a permanent ban and their ARCHTI membership can be revoked, with ensuing serious consequences for their therapy practice and this can be communicated to all other members of the ARCHTI forum, the general body of ARCHTI members and any other organisations who may be affected by such a serious abuse of a privilege by a forum member.

Guidelines for Use

  • Please ENJOY using the ARCHTI forum and consider it a place where you can share your thoughts, feelings, concerns, highs and lows of complementary health practice and feel you are part of a larger “ARCHTI Community” particularly if you practice on your own.
  • All ARCHTI members have a common interest and, as such, should feel a sense of “belonging” and should be there for each other.
  • If you have any queries about using the forum you should email ARCHTI and ask for direction. There is no need to feel concerned about posting to the forum because it is a “closed” forum and is only available to ARCHTI members. HOWEVER, we cannot fully guarantee that hackers don’t access the forum for their own purposes and, therefore, we recommend that you do not post any personal details which could be used for their evil purposes.
  • When opening a thread or discussion or question, be specific. Keep it short and to the point leaving no doubt for misinterpretation by those reading your post so that the best possible replies, recommendations and conversations will result.
  • Remember, that other forum members can read your posts so don’t put any silly stuff there. Initially, you may feel that nobody knows who you are, but, as you become involved in the forum you may need to raise a serious issue or take part in a serious discussion – and then you will want to be taken seriously, won’t you?
  • You are not alone! The idea of the ARCHTI forum is for other members to be there for you if needed. Don’t abuse this privilege.
  • At all times, your posts are being monitored by ARCHTI whose sole purpose is to ensure the proper use of the forum, so apart from other ARCHTI forum members, you are being “moderated”. This ensures appropriate behaviour to the best of our ability and that system is in place to protect you.
  • Do not publish your email address in your posts and messages/replies as this only invites spammers to collect email addresses to use and sell to other spammers. ARCHTI moderators will edit out email addresses from posts for your protection.

By continuing with the sign up process you agree to the above rules and any others that the Administrator specifies.
