Tai ChiIt means the supreme ultimate. Tai Chi helps Chi to flow unhindered. It teaches one to flow with life and to be in the moment. It is an ancient Chinese art having mainly Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian influences. It is a sequence of gently flowing movements that promotes harmony in the body, mind and spirit. It is sometimes referred to as "a walking meditation". With the correct use of the body posture, focusing the mind, and opening the joints one releases mental chatter within. With daily practice over the years one opens the door to spontaneity and greater aliveness. It tones the immune system and the resulting harmony can promote personal growth. It is a form of exercise and meditation only and so is useful for stress and lethargy. Practising Tai Chi allows a person to take charge of his own health, aiming for the highest possible state of the body, mind and spirit - hence the supreme ultimate: Tai Chi. Tai Chi is practised throughout China at sunrise, in parks by generations of Chinese. Related Therapists: |
